Top Budding Entrepreneur Female -  Gaulpine Nyirenda

Gaulphine Nyirenda founded Maneno Bookshops in 1998. The company which has 16 members of staff is into publishing, selling, teaching and distribution of learning material.

 

Under Nyirenda’s management the company has managed became an agent for Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Edutrade of South Africa and Kadimah Publishing Company.

 

It has also jointly published with Oxford and Cambridge University Press recommended and used secondary school textbooks by the Ministry of Education in the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Agriculture, Religious and Moral Education.

 

The company which is a recommended outlet by the Ministry of Education for Textbook Revolving Fund has an annual turnover of about MK 48 million.

 

So far the company is  working on projects  from World Bank, CHAM, University of Malawi, Domasi TTC and Mzuzu University.
