CEO Nation Publications Limited

Achuthan was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Nation on July 12 1993. Under her leadership the Nation Publication has as a company and NPL employees have received national and regional recognition for outstanding performance put together have won 22 top awards. in various categories. As a media house NPL has won 11 top awards, and journalist. The publication has also continued to grow over the year leading to the introduction of new products over the years Weekend Nation, Nation on Sunday, imagination and Nation Online.

NPL has contributed towards the advancement of journalism education in Malawi by being biggest employer of journalism students from Polytechnic

Achuthan has also contributed to the safe motherhood of Malawian mothers through Mothers Day Fun Run and has also added to national development through the Nation Achiever Scheme.

Created employment for Malawians from 5 at NPL’s inception to 198 to date

In her free time Achuthan is involved in Community work at her home in NKhata Bay.

Married to Krishna Achuthan and mother to AKrishna and Shakira, Achuthan is a former National Women’s Hockey Coach and former National Women’s Team Hockey player.
