Here is a list of selected winners and losers in this year's presidential and parliamentary general elections.

Brown Mpinganjira - UDF MP and MCP's presidential running mate
Dr George Nga Ntafu - UDF, ex leader of the party in parliament
Friday Jumbe - UDF
Gwanda Chakwamba - NRP
Mark Katsonga - RP and his brother Davis Katsonga - DPP who lost to Nicholasi Dausi
Nancy Tembo - MCP
Clement Stambuli - UDF
Maotcha Banda - ex minister
Jafali Mussa - ex minister
Rashid Gaffar - ex deputy minister
Hetherwick Ntaba - Spokesperson
Frank Mwenefumbo - DPP - ex minister
Calista Chimombo - DPP - ex minister
Mwafulirwa 
Dave Ngulinga
Louis Chimango - ex speaker of parliament
Esther Chilenje - ex deputy speaker
Humphrey Mvula - UDF strategist
Loveness Gondwe - NARC - only woman presidential candidate

Winners include
Felix Njawala - Independent candidate - founder of ewallet or Malawian pop music competition - He beat Gaffar
Aaron Sangala - DPP
Nandau Penemulungu - DPP - restaurant owne and womans' golf champion
Prof Mwanza - DPP

In the meantime, while other presidential candidates have conceded defeat and congratulated Bingu, Loveness Gondwe has written the MEC allerging that the elections were rigged by DPP although she has no intentions of going through the courts.
