Reserve Bank of Malawi [RBM] board has called for an extraordinary meeting to discuss the fate of General Manager of Malawi Switch Centre [Malswitch], Grey Nkungula whose graphic sex video and photos with a wife of Blantyre based prominent lawyer are circulating among swappers like wildfire in offices.

The genesis of the matter is that Nkungula' laptop developed fault and Malswitch IT and RBM computer technicians failed to fix the problems.

He then took the laptop to IT Centre in Blantyre where it was fixed but it is believed unknown technician who worked on the laptop but who goes to the same church with Nkungula at Kabula Seventh Day Adventist [SDA] in Blantyre watched shocking sex video clips which were downloaded onto the machine.

He took some video clips to SDA church elders who were equally disturbed and he is said to have copied many clips which are being shared by Malswitch staff, RBM, other banks employees and many people in Malawi. Nyasa Times has also received some clips of the graphic sex video.

In one video clip, Nkungula is seen having romantic and sexual moments with a woman identified as Mrs Tapiwa Msiska, auditor at Deloitte and Touche.

She is wife of Modecai Msiska, eminent lawyer and one of the directors of First Merchant Bank.

The video clips were captured at Cresta Hotel in Lilongwe and some Malswitch reception and offices.

Few video clips are also showing Nkungula having quality pleasure time with a lady identified as Catherine Kaitano of Lilongwe.Upon realization of the shame of the mass circulation of the video clips, Malswitch board decided to call for an emergency meeting to carpet Nkungula.

"At Malswitch we expect high standards of behaviour from all staff especially from management at all times, both professionally and privately.

"In any case where a member of staff is believed to have fallen below those standards, action will be taken hence the call of a board meeting," said one board member who had sought anonymity.

Nkungula is said to shown brevity by declining to resign suggesting that his private life is not relevant to official work.He could not be reached for comment when Nyasa Times attempted several times to reach him on his mobile phone and reporters were not granted permission to meet him for an interview.

"We can not assist you to gather information about somebody's private life when it is not in the public interest to publish it," said a manager at Malswitch when attempts were made to talk to Nkungula.

A human rights lawyer told Nyasa Times that based  on Article 8 of the European Convention of Human Rights, which states that an individual has a right to a private life, it was important to take the view that the public interest must be greater than the potential harm caused to the subject of a story.

"A person's sexual life is the most intimate part of a private life and ordinary human beings expect the privacy of their sexual life to be respected however the mass  circulation of the videos will not help matters," said the lawyer who sympathized with the professional.

Nkungula who is said to have another affair with a secretary at the RBM Blantyre Branch, joined Malswitch in April 2002 as Director of Operations and is credited with RBM’s progressive innovation within the SADC region.
