A group of young Dutch doctors some of which have been to the country on a study visit, for as short as 3 months, have set up a foundation to assist needy Secondary School-going youth. Jojo Heidema (Dr) heads the group. The scholarship will initially assist some 10 students and is worth more than K40, 000 each per annum over five years. Other than monetary grants, needy students could also get clothes, a bike for traveling to school and other items that will assist in making them excel. The Foundation, registered in Holland, is called MEDULAWI (Medical and Educational Help for Malawi), aims at helping children in Malawi to study, and to provide some medical help. The foundation is being administered in Malawi by incmedia. Further details to be posted on the website including criteria and methods of application. For more information call +265 1 831 114
