Sunday: Police in Blantyre have stopped the rally that former president Muluzi was going to hold in the township of Ndirande this afternoon. Reports say the police destroyed the makeshift podium and stage which Muluzi was going to use. Just hours ago, Saturday afternoon Muluzi was prevented from addressing a crowd that gathered at Biwi Triangle after he had visited those that were injured during his arrest. Teargas was used to disperse the crowd at the Lilongwe meeting.
