Former President Dr Bakili Muluzi who is also UDF's 2009 Presidential candidate was arrested this afternoon as he alighted from the Aircraft ferrying him on his last leg of his return trip from the UK. Muluzi was arrested and flown by military jet to his BCA hills home in Blantyre where he was put under house arrest. He was met at his home with a huge police presence. 2 UDF supporters are reported shot dead in a crash that ensued. Contrary to reports elsewhere that cellphone lines have been disabled, this reporter tried a number of phones and they were all working. Muluzi is under arrest following an ACB charge of corruption and not the recent coup attempt that saw many others arrested.
