|
UDF's Presidential Candidate for the 2009 elections is Dr Bakili Muluzi. He received more than 1960 votes while his contender, Dr Cassim Chilumpha got less than 40 votes of the total 2000 votes cast. In his victory speech, Dr Bakili Muluzi thank the 30 something delegates that did not vote for him and Dr Cassim Chilumpha for contesting. He said this was a sign of democracy.
