Chief Commercial Officer, Africa Celtel International
Maurice Newa is currently the Chief Commercial Officer for Africa Celtel International (A subsidiary of Zain Group) based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He is responsible for the marketing, sales, distribution and customer care for all Celtel operations in Africa.
Newa joined the Celtel group as a Group Marketing Director Operations and was later promoted to the current position.
Before going to Celtel Newa worked as a Regional Franchise Manager for South Central Africa at the Coca-Cola company in Johannesburg South Africa but he later moved on to Nairobi, Kenya.
Newa who holds graduate qualifications in Economics, Administration, Accountancy and Marketing has also worked for Carlsberg Breweries as Sales Marketing Manager, Unilever and British American Tobacco.
A graduate of London Business School’s Advanced Program and a student of the University of Liverpool Newa is a founding President of Limbe Lions Club.
Other notable awards include Employee of the year in South Africa at the Coca-Cola Company.
A soccer fan, Newa, says he has never read a novel except for school literature.
